Old Boy Charles ‘Cliff’ Ashdown (1950), who passed away in October 2020 at the age of 87, was recently honoured with a plaque in School House. Placed near the entrance to the dining hall, the plaque recognises Cliff’s significant financial contribution towards the education of students at Churchie. Cliff, who during his time in the blue and grey was a boarder in Goodwin, provided bursaries for 28 families at Churchie. He was also a generous benefactor to The Glennie School, Vision Australia and many other worthy causes. Generous with his time, Cliff will be long remembered for his guidance and humour that had a positive impact on so many lives.
