In 2019, at the age of 96, Tony Osborn (1942) travelled from Bundaberg to Churchie to attend our annual Vintage Vikings Lunch and much to his surprise was crowned as our Oldest Old Boy in attendance. Some years later and now 99, Tony was equally surprised with the recent news that from over 20,000 past students of Churchie he is currently our Oldest Living Old Boy. In September this year, we look forward to seeing Tony celebrate his 100th birthday.

Tony’s philosophy is “If you’re always looking for the big things in life, it’s the small things that you’re just bypassing.” This is no more evident than his community service activities, more particularly his famous mulligatawny soup which is a highlight of the annual Lenten Soup Night run by the Anglican Men's Society in his local parish. Inspired by his love of cooking and people, this initiative of Tony’s has been running since 1995. Tony is showing no signs of slowing down either. Widely acknowledged among his fellow parishioners as a major contributor in many other ways as well, Tony is always coming up with ideas as to how they might do better in the community.

Keep up the great work Tony! We look forward to seeing you celebrate life as a centenarian.
