Lachlan Bloxsom (Year 12) had a great start to the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge which was held recently at Sydney Motorsports Park.

He qualified in fourth position, and when the lights went out for Race 1, he was contesting second position before the first corner. Settling into third place out of 30 starters was a great effort, and he maintained this position for about half the race until he lost grip on a high-speed bumpy corner and was sent into the kitty litter. He was towed out and managed to finish.

Race 2 was exciting, with Lachlan managing to pass several cars and reach sixth place. That was where he started Race 3, with his final result for the weekend being fifth.

Lachlan is the youngest in the field and is gaining valuable experience with every race. Round 2 of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge will be held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from 24 to 26 June and can be viewed on Stan Sports.
