On Track for Tokyo

As a student at Churchie, it was always evident that Jack Bruce (2012) would pursue his passion for athletics by competing on the international stage. After completing a Bachelor of Commerce/Economics at the University of Queensland, in 2015 Jack moved to the University of Arkansas to commence studies for a Bachelor of Business Administration. Since his arrival, there is no doubt that Jack has become an integral part of the Arkansas Razorbacks Cross Country/Track and Field team. Now in his third year, he has already earned acknowledgement as a two times All-American. Without regard to citizenship, this means finishing in the top 40 at a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships. In 2016 at the NCAA Championships in Indiana, Jack completed the 10 kilometre event in a time of 30:10.9 earning him 19th place in a field of 251 competitors. Jack continues to achieve personal milestones and is certainly on track to achieve his dream of becoming an Olympian.

Jack’s personal best times are listed below.

Mile: 4:00.67

1500 metres: 3:41.67
