After recent appearances on ABC’s Utopia alongside comedy icon, Rob Sitch and Channel 7’s Wanted with
Rebecca Gibney, David Todman (2006) has been selected to take part in the International Actor’s
Masterclass in Hollywood. The four-week course starts in late August and is run by the Australian Institute for
Performing Arts in conjunction with some of the biggest Casting Directors in Los Angeles. It has proved to be an
excellent opportunity for young Australian actors to make huge inroads in the American film industry.
Lisa Beach CSA, the Casting Director behind Logan, Wedding Crashers, Horrible Bosses and many other wellknown
films and TV, auditioned David for the course and said, “he is great, has so much potential” before
stating she would “absolutely consider him for any kind of comedy thing I was doing.”
David, together with fellow Old Boy Tim Hewitt (2008), won the People’s Choice ‘Bob Hope Festival Award’
at the Brisbane Fringe Comedy Festival in 2013 for their debut stand-up show ‘Culture Shock.’ David now
lives in Melbourne where he has just come off very successful collaborations at the Melbourne
International Comedy Festival and the Melbourne Fringe Festival, whilst also becoming heavily involved in
the improv and theatre scene.
